This painting was made in high school to show my love for Hong Kong. I used bright colors to paint things that remind me of the city, like the skyline, dim sum, egg waffles, the green tram, and the famous ice cream truck. The hands in the middle are holding the city, which means I want to protect and care for it.
One special detail is the street sign that says 「囍歡里」. It sounds like "I like you" in Cantonese, and the word 「里」means "street" or "lane." I added this as a fun and meaningful way to express my feelings toward Hong Kong. This artwork is very special to me because it shows how much I care about the place where I grew up.
