The Beginning of a Creative Journey
At the end of 2019, Traveler’s Art Journal was created as a small art business rooted in a love for travel, sketching, and storytelling. The early products are postcards and stationery, focused on architecture and cultural moments from different places. It was a way to capture meaningful memories and share them through illustration and design.

Adapting Through Change
When the pandemic hit, travel came to a pause. Instead of stopping, the focus shifted. With fresh eyes, everyday scenes around Hong Kong became the new inspiration. Through illustration, the brand began highlighting local buildings, traditions, and small moments—turning the city into a canvas and using design as a way to celebrate its culture.
Blending Cultures and Styles
In 2021, a new concept was born, combining the look of vintage Western wallpaper with elements of Hong Kong culture. This mix of pattern and place opened up new creative directions. One standout project was a crossover with a local leather handcraft brand, where this unique pattern was transformed into handcrafted goods, blending illustration with traditional craftsmanship.
Building Connections at Markets
Joining art markets and conventions became an important part of the journey. These events were more than just opportunities to sell, they were spaces for connection. Talking to customers, meeting fellow artists, and exchanging stories brought energy and inspiration. The support and feedback from these events helped the brand grow and evolve.
Expanding Through Collaborations
Over time, Traveler’s Art Journal expanded beyond products. The journey led to collaborative and custom design work, from creating a wedding backdrop to designing mooncake packaging for a local restaurant. These projects allowed the illustration style to be applied in new ways, connecting art with life’s meaningful moments.

What the Journey Taught
Running this art business was more than just making things, it was about learning to adapt, connect, and stay curious. Each challenge brought growth, and every project told a story. The experience shaped not only creative skills but also a deeper appreciation for culture, community, and the power of illustration in everyday life.
